Today's society breeds an emotionally toxic atmosphere. We are being programed to manipulate each other for personal gain. This purpose is held as being more important than expanding awareness of our emotional body and the evolvement of our soul through emotional capability. This is our current societal norm. Business as usual and business comes first. The result of a money controlled, scarcity fear based system contaminated with a cultural undertone promoting: unsustainable consumption and consumer greed, sexual perversion, self interest and addiction. At the same time we blame and shame each other for falling subject to the pressures of our culture with limited support in soul care and emotional growth.
The toxicity from our repressed emotional state can become volatile under the pressure. As a result, drama runs rampant. We may be tempted to live in the drama. Being dramatic is not being emotional. Being emotional can have a positive outcome without any negative effect, if the emotions are fully evolved without reaction. Being dramatic can have a positive outcome but always with a negative effect. This effect occurs physiologically, neurologically and metaphysically.
We may also be tempted to shove an emotion away and hold onto it tight, saying to ourselves we are not effected by it. This will not help growth, but will keep us stuck. In this case we tend to blame others if they express their emotions in a dramatic way. This is another projection and also a way to avoid personal growth from the emotional landscape provided. All emotions are gifts of wisdom for a better understanding of self and others. Emotions are not junk to project on or oppress in others or personally repress and intellectually avoid.
Emotional Intelligence
When we experience an emotion, even if we believe on an empathic level it belongs to someone else, it becomes ours. Nobody else can feel it for you. Intellectually judging another for an emotion you are experiencing is not empathy, it's another diversion tactic resulting from the fear of feeling. In the case of an emotional experience and without the escape mechanisms of projection, oppression or repression the only thing left to do is respond. How you respond will determine the life of the emotion and the effects of that emotion on your life.

Start with "How do I feel?" Then just sit with it. Your mind is already busy working with the intention to feel. With this intention we can avoid attaching to unnecessary thoughts distracting you from really understanding the feeling present. Allow the feeling to formulate itself fully. Through this allowance of space with intention to feel, the body will respond accordingly. Continue to hold space.
Listen to the messages. The mind knows wisdom, the ego knows thoughts.

When experiencing an emotion, higher cognitive brain functioning for the highest good is allowed only with the evolved process of the emotion. We can't think our way out of feeling. When we use our rational mind to think our way out of fully feeling because we are scared of vulnerability or of the perception of suffering, we become stuck in lower brain functioning (reptile brain). When this happens we bypass the emotional brain entirely. This is mental trickery. In which our intellect and ego, by keeping us "safe" trick us into thinking we have transcended our emotions. When in reality, we are stuck in a intellect/reptile brain behavioral loop.
This delusion is a detriment to a fully evolved emotion and ultimately our well being in it's entirety. In this intellectual/lower brain functioning pit trap, we are in the fight/flight/freeze mode. Here we find it easy to rationalize and justify as we digress into unhealthy behavioral patterns such as: harm to self or others, sexual dysfunction, mental disease and other health problems.

With pure intentions, and your body uninhibited from movement, the spirit will guide you through the appropriate actions. You may cry or experience other vocalizations. You may feel your muscles vibrate in one area of your body or shake in another. Sometimes there will be lots of movement and other times less movement will be needed. You may also experience warmth and tingling in areas or even feel energy release and flow out your arms, fingers, legs and head. Or you may be led by mind/body/spirit on a vision journey to evolve the emotion.
Whatever your integral being guides you to experience, allow it. All will be with grace and ease when no thoughts or judgements are allowed in to oppress, dominate or control the process. When we resist our mind/body/spirit's wisdom to guide us and as a result attach to negative or judgmental thought-forms, we begin a battle with ourselves of which there is only one looser. The mind/body/spirit will guide you through the process to completion.
The Aftermath
release therein, you may feel lighter with more energy. Or, you may be tired and need to rest. Either way, drink lots of water and take it easy. Any emotional process is energy work and you deserve a break and some self care. If the emotion is very old, entire belief systems and constructs may have been built around it. In this case, you will begin a grieving process and your entire world will shift... let it.
You may come to the mind/body/spirit realization you love everything that has ever hurt because look at what it has taught you about yourself. You will be amazed at yourself
In The Now
If you are dealing with a fresh emotion in the moment, using the three steps is that much easier without the need to release trapped energy. Do it on the spot as to avoid processing later. But be mindful of past emotional triggers and give yourself proper space to experience and evolve the emotions later if needed. Remember experiencing emotions does not mean thinking about them.
If an emotion presents itself in the moment from an every day scenario in life, Firstly, set your mind to feel it fully. Then, allow your body to relax into the feeling with breath and heart connection. Allow the mental clarity aligned with body connection to awaken the pure spirit to respond. Sometimes action is required. Sometimes a vision or knowing will guide you to take no action. Every situation is different except that in this state of functioning all will be done in peace.
Soul Truth
When the three step process is completed upon every situation where emotions are evolved, (for me, everything) we find ourselves moving through life with ease and integrity. We feel. We speak with our highest good. We know when action is required. We act with our highest ability. And mostly we find great compassion for others' feelings. This compassion comes from the ability to fully understand our own. Eventually from this greater understanding of why we feel, we begin to feel good more than not. And when we don't feel good we know why and know exactly what to do about it.
After the three steps are completed you will have arrived at your soul truth. With mind/body/spirit guiding you through the evolution of the emotion, you will find a soul purpose for any scenario.
